“Teenage” tom showing off.

Similar to raising our pastured chickens, once the turkeys have their feathers we bring them outside in our pasture. They get organic feed, but also eats a lot of grass, clover, chicory, and grasshoppers. They are amazing creatures, full of sound and curiosity—and they can really mow the grass! And. . . they are transformatively, magically delicious. We still have a few turkeys available for purchase off the farm, at the Woodstock Farmers Market, and in home delivery! For more detailed information, email rootandskyfarm@gmail.com and sign up for our newsletter.

The turkeys are hilariously friendly. They love it when we come visit!

Beckett watching ove the young turkey poults on a hot day. They are fun to watch run around in the grass for the first time!
