Sheep

Our sheep have been a peaceful addition to the landscape of the farm. Always on open pasture, they are raised in an herbicide-free environment, fed solely on pasture, with no supplemental feed. They share space with grass-fed beef cows, clover-drunk bees, and any other animals that wander through the slowly healing land. We are selling lamb from the farm, at the Woodstock Farmers Market, and by monthly home delivery (managed through our newsletter, for which you can sign up by emailing rootandskyfarm@gmail.com).

Sheepspitality

The sheep came to us affectionate and charming. When visitors walk into the field, the sheep come running up in a perfect line.

Improving the Pasture

As we try and help restore the land to fruitfulness without herbicides, the presence of these sheep, munching clover and providing fertilizer, is a big help!
